Naveen Jaihind is a social activist and CM candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party for Haryana. Naveen was born in Bhainsru Kalan, Rohtak, Haryana on June 1, 1981 to a middle-class family. Naveen has spent his childhood in the North Indian town of Rohtak. He completed his education from Maharshi Dayanand University. Naveen started using Jaihind as a surname because he wants to remove the caste system from India. From 2006 to 2013 Naveen Jaihind worked as a student leader and social activist in Haryana. Naveen Jaihind joined many students and friends in Jaihind Morcha. He was also involved in Anna Andolan- India Against Corruption Movement and Naveen Jaihind was a member of the Core Committee of India against corruption movement.

Along with Naveen Jaihind, there are many big names who were members of the Core Committee of  India such as Shanti Bhushan, Shri Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan, Ms. Kiran Bedi and many more. In 2016, Naveen Jaihind was arrested along with Arvind Kejriwal and Shri Anna Hazare for 13 days “Anshan” which ultimately led to a Parliament Committee on elements of Jan Lokpal Bill. Naveen Jaihaid is married to Swati Maliwal who is also a social activist.

Swati Maliwal: Naveen Jaihind’s Wife

Swati Maliwal was born on October 15, 1984, and is also an Indian politician. Currently,  she is the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women. Swati Maliwal was born and brought up in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. She graduated from Amity International School. Swati Maliwal tied the knot with Naveen Jaihind. In July 2015 Swati Maliwal commenced her first task as chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women along with that she was also a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party. In 2018 her duty was extended for another three years.

She is the youngest member who got the opportunity to be the Commissioner for women. In 2018 Swati Maliwal extended her demands to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the death penalty for individuals who rape children under the age of 12. The members of organization Rape Roko were supporting Swati Maliwal. She went on a 10 days hunger strike for this cause which started on April 13, 2018.

Naveen Jaihind & Swati Makiwal Announced their Divorce

Swati Maliwal announced her divorce by social media on February 19, 2020.  She wrote on Twitter:

“Most painful moment is when your fairytale ends. Mine ended. Me and Naveen have got divorced. Some times best of people can’t stay together. Will always miss him and our life that could have been. Everyday I pray to God to give us and others like us strength to deal with this pain.”

The couple hit the headline in 2018 where Swati Maliwal commented on husband’s controversial remark on women. She said-she sympathises with anger and pain of Naveen but not with his statement. The different opinions could be the reason for their divorce even though there are no comments from Naveed Jaihind’s side on his divorce from Swati Maliwal. We wish them luck and strength for their decision and career.
